Marie Brügemann has been a research assistant and doctoral candidate in the Environmental Psychology department since January 2025. Her research here focuses on behavioral psychological interventions in the field of circular economy. Previously, she was a research assistant at the Institute for Biology Didactics at the University of Cologne since February 2023, where she evaluated interventions on education for sustainable development (ESD) among children. She has also been a research assistant and lecturer in the Department of Personality and Social Psychology since October 2021. The focus of her work here is on the role of attitude for behavior, especially in the area of sustainability.

She was also a research assistant in a project to develop an outcome indicator test to assess and operationalize ESD competencies of students in Germany (OIT-BNE) and at the University of Hohenheim in a project to develop and evaluate a Pedagogical Education Tutor (PET).

Marie Brüggemann studied Psychology at the University of Bielefeld (B.Sc.) and the Rheinische Friedrich-Wilhelms-Universität Bonn (M.Sc.). During her studies, she worked as a research assistant in the methodology department at Bielefeld University and at the Max Planck Institute for Research on Collective Goods and as an intern at the Institute for Ecological Economy Research (IÖW).
